Emonex explores a radical possibility:
What if emotions could be captured, stored, and replayed?

This project reimagines emotional wellbeing through wearable technology, proposing a future where positive emotional states can be captured, stored, and replayed.

The Problem

We live in a hyperconnected world — yet emotional disconnection is rising.

Millions struggle with anxiety, stress, and emotional instability.
Current solutions help track mood. Some help regulate stress.

That gap became the foundation of Emonex.

But none allow us to:

  • Preserve a feeling
  • Revisit a moment emotionally
  • Share emotional states with others

Photos capture images.
Videos capture events.
But nothing captures how it felt.

That gap became the foundation of Emonex.

Research & Opportunity

Market Context

Most wellness wearables today:

  • Brainwave tracking
  • Stress analysis
  • Meditation support
  • Sleep optimization

However, they stop at monitoring.

They monitor emotion. They do not preserve it.

Emonex shifts the conversation from emotional tracking to emotional archiving.

Why This Project Matters

The idea was born from personal experience.

After relocating internationally, I revisited photos and videos to reconnect with meaningful memories — but something was missing. The visuals remained. The feeling did not.
That distinction — between memory and emotion — shaped the direction of this concept.

Concept Overview

Emonex is a wearable neuro-interface that allows users to:

  • Record positive emotional states
  • Store them in a personal emotion library
  • Replay emotions on demand
  • Share curated emotional experiences

The system consists of:

  1. A sleek neuro-sensing headband
  2. AI-powered emotional mapping
  3. A digital emotion library
  4. A speculative emotional ecosystem

It moves emotion from fleeting experience → to designed memory.

Design Development

Exploring the Possibilities

Early ideation embraced speculative thinking.

I explored:

  • Emotional capsules
  • Immersive AR/VR memory environments
  • Public emotion archives
  • Shareable emotional installations

Brand Identity

Emonex combines “Emotion” and “Next Generation.”

The visual language reflects:

  • Futurism
  • Neural precision
  • Human intimacy

The brand positions itself at the intersection of technology and emotional connection

Prototyping Journey

Prototype 1 — Immersive Emotional Device

This version prioritized depth of experience but lacked everyday usability.

An early concept exploring fully immersive emotional playback through AR/VR integration.

Prototype 2 — Full Neuro Headpiece

Technologically expressive, but visually intrusive and impractical for daily wear.

A high-coverage neuro-detection concept inspired by EEG technologies.

Prototype 3 — Ergonomic Emotional Headband (Final Direction)

The selected direction — a sleek, wearable headband designed for everyday emotional interaction.

This design focused on:

  • Comfort
  • Subtlety
  • Wearability
  • Fashion integration

Digital Experience

Emonex Sync App — Early Wireframes

These early versions felt too conventional — like a mood tracking app.

That realization triggered a pivot.

Sitemap

Early information architecture mapping the Emonex ecosystem.
This sitemap explored how emotion recording, storage, sharing, and reflection could connect within a single wearable–app system.

Emotion Library – Low-Fidelity Wireframes

Low-fidelity exploration of the Emotion Library interface.
Initial concepts focused on tracking emotional states through graphs, tags, and dashboards — resembling conventional mood-tracking apps.

Emotion Library – High-Fidelity UI Direction

High-fidelity refinement of the Emotion Library experience.
Visual language evolved to feel calm and intuitive, introducing soft gradients and emotional data visualisation.

These early explorations revealed that the experience felt too close to a conventional mood-tracking app — prompting a strategic shift toward a more immersive emotional interface.

The Emotion Library Concept

Instead of tracking emotion, what if users could browse it?

The idea evolved into:

A curated Emotion Library.

Users can:

  • Browse categorized emotional experiences
  • Upload selected emotions to their wearable
  • Share emotional “capsules”
  • Build personal emotional archives

Reimagining emotion as a browsable, curated archive rather than a temporary state.

This shift transformed Emonex from a tool into an ecosystem.

Storytelling & Presentation

To present Emonex within a startup context:

  • A narrative storyboard was developed
  • AI-generated imagery supported visual storytelling
  • A 30-second product intro video was produced

Ethical Reflection

Speculative technologies involving emotion raise important questions:

  • Who owns emotional data?
  • Can emotion be commercialized?
  • How do we protect psychological integrity?

Rather than ignoring these tensions, the project acknowledges them as part of its future system.

What I Learned

  • Speculative system design
  • Wearable interaction thinking
  • Emotional UX frameworks
  • Narrative-driven product strategy
  • Designing futures grounded in human need
